Our home is a detached house located in Bogliasco along the Easte Riviera, in a sunny and quiet spot, beyond the panoramic Via Aurelia, the ancient Roman road that runs along the Ligurian coastline. Since the house towers above the village, it commands a spectacular sea view. The beach is only a 5-minute walk from the house. Parking is available along the road which runs below the Serenesse B&B, and the house can be reached via some steps along a picturesque cobbled pathway – a “creusa”.
Bogliasco is strategically positioned between Genoa and the Golfo Paradiso: it is the first coastal village that you encounter driving eastwards from the Genoa conurbation towards the Riviera.
The house is set amidst the typical Ligurian terraced olive groves and fruit orchards - the “fasce” - and overlooks our vegetable garden. The upper floor accommodates three large bedrooms and a bathroom with both bath tub and shower. Breakfast is served in the veranda, overlooking the garden, which can also be used in adverse weather conditions.
The upper floor accommodates three double rooms, all of which command splendid views of the Golfo Paradiso. The rooms have been furnished with personal care and attention to detail: we chose to avoid the impersonal ambiance of hotels, or that of a rented house, with posters on the walls. Thus you will find my period dolls’ house in a corner of a room, or Giorgio’s collection of shells. All rooms have air-conditioning and individual heating control. The rooms facing the sea share a large terrace separated by creepers. On clear days you can enjoy a breath-taking panorama which sweeps across the sea from Mt. Portofino to Savona, and if you take the time to scan the horizon like an old sea-dog, you may also catch a glimpse of Corsica. Upon request, the double bed in the Nervi room can be separated into two single beds, and a third bed can also be opened up. The Portofino room offers a double room and features windows on three sides: there is more glass than bricks in the walls! The glass-panelled doors of both these rooms lead onto the terrace, overlooking the gulf, which has been decked out with table and chairs from which you can enjoy your breakfast at the start of the day. Your neighbours are on the other side of a fragrant jasmine plant, so your privacy will be guaranteed.
On the same floor, there is a large bathroom, fitted out with both a bath tub and shower, which will shared by the guests. One window overlooks the sea, whilst the other one faces the terraced gardens.
