Polmone is a restructured rustic farmstead consisting of four spacious holiday homes with a beautiful grand view of the hilly Umbrian country. Umbria is the province of the Etruscans and it is also known as: 'The green heart of Italy'. It has a breathtaking landscape with panoramic views, where woods alternate meadows, fields of sunflowers, olive orchards and vineyards. You find the authentic Umbrian kitchen and can enjoy the tranquillity around the house. You can make trips to the various pittoresque villages and cities with a multitude of Etruscan art collections.
Polmone means: the lung. The house is literally a lung. A place to catch your breath again. It is placed on a hill with a breath taking view of the valleys all around. The closest house is located on the next hill (about 700 meters) and the closest settlement, Pornello, is 4 kilometers away. Polmone is accessible via an unpaved road (3 km).
Each holiday home has its own terrace with its own magnificent view of the Umbrian hills. Around the house there is ample space to play for children. They can horse around in the woods and look for some little streams downhill. It is possible to do some hiking and biking in the immediate surroundings. For biking a mountain gear ratio is indispensable. Furthermore you can make marvelous trips by car. Nearby Polmone you can visit La Scarzuola, a monastry, founded by St. Francis of Assisi and in the fifties bought by Tomaso Buzzi, a famous italien architect. Tomaso Buzzi transformed La Scarzuola in a so called ideal city, which is really interesting visiting.
