Pozzo dei Cocci is a family run agriturismo situated in the umbrian countryside overlooking the valley of the Ventia river, a tributary of the Tiber. The building made of Arenaria stone, is a traditional Umbrian farm house, surrounded by century old oak and olive trees, has 6 double rooms each with their own private bathroom, one with wheelchair access. In addition, there is also a large breakfast room with views over the valley. The Agriturismo farms livestock and produces its own olive oil and wine. The varieties of olive are typical of the area, such us Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoio while the vineyard, growing red grapes, has the D.O.C. “Colli Altotiberini”.
The high Tiber valley is an area rich in history, with many small but important towns, where agriculture is widely carried out. The landscape with woods is rich in wild animals. It is possible to encounter wild boar, fox, wild rabbits and pheasants while walking. The low hills that gradually merge into the Appennino mountains provide refreshing evening breezes at the end of the hot summer days, while winter provides spectacular scenery of the hills and towns as they emerge from the mist.
Pozzo dei Cocci is in a excellent position in the center of some of the most visited historical towns of Umbria, such us Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio. The tranquility that characterized the Umbrian farmland and the relative vicinity to one of the most important roads of umbria, the SS 3 bis will allow our guests to experience the cultural tourism with the enjoyment of country life. The area is perfect for walking, due to the presence of forest and walking tracks that extend along the Ventia valley and into the next, allowing the visitor access to historical sites not yet touched by mass tourism.
