Umbria: " The Green Heart of Italy "
Petralta, run by the Parigi family (who come from Tuscany), lies in the hills to the west of Città di Castello, in the Comune of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina.
The Old Farmhouse
Petralta is a typical casa colonica, sensitively restored to provide a welcome for guests on a working farm. The ground floor contains a large dining room with open fire and a veranda opening on to the surrounding woods. For some time now, in an adjacent building, Petralta has offered a pair of appartments, each with two double rooms, bathroom and a living room with cooking facilities, and a further double room with en suite. The house occupies a panoramic position about a kilometre from the village of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina in the Aggia valley.
To find relief from the heat of summer …..
Petralta has its own swimming pool with glorious views over the surrounding countryside.
Our Restaurant
We insist on authentic, regional cooking. A typical dinner will feature a pasta such as malfatti (gnocchi made with spinach and ricotta), roast goose, rabbit, guinea fowl or pigeon, a dessert washed down with a glass of Vinsanto, finishing with coffee and home-made liqueurs. Ingredients: All the fruit and vegetables served to our guests are cultivated in our own garden. We rear our own chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowl, quails, pigeons and rabbits.
