The chianti region is characteristic for fortified mediaeval castles, abbeys, churches and convents and the museum of the sacred arts. Last but not least, there are several cellars in the area, where the best wines of the chianti (and others) as well as the most traditional dishes of the tuscan kitchen can be tasted. Outdoor activities: there are numerous tracks and trails for hiking and mountain biking, leading to some of the most beautiful villages in the chianti.
