This very special house, with the best view of Val d’Orcia, sits on a hill facing the majestic Mount Amiata (an extinct Volcano).

It is protected to the east by woodland and surrounded by a well kept garden, an olive grove and a vineyard.
From the farmhouse and from the swimming pool you can admire the magnificent views of farms, villages and hilltop towns.
The “city” of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also visible.
The origin of the structure dates back to the 9th Century when it was built as a watchtower for the pilgrim route down the valley. The house has been greatly enlarged throughout the centuries and, until the 1950s, hosted several families. After those years the building remained empty for some decades falling into ruin. In 1989 the current owner started a complete reconstruction project with period materials, thus bringing the house back to its former glory.

On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a large working fire place,a dining room and a gourmet kitchen, a Billiard room, 2 bedrooms with private bathroom, a laundry room and a small guest bathroom.
On the first floor there is an inviting sitting room with working fire place, 4 bedrooms with private bathroom (2 with working fireplaces) and a single bedroom. There is also a small well equipped kitchen.
Outside there is a patio which leads to a study, a small bathroom, a covered structure with a large dining table and 2 ovens (one antique and one modern).
Access to the panoramic swimming pool is either from the covered patio or from the garden.
