Villa Podernovo is a lovely 18th century stone farmhouse, situated in Tuscany not far from Siena, which has been tastefully converted into a charming holiday villa with pool plus a delightful wedding villa.

Our lovely villa for rent is, in fact, located not far south of the wonderful medieval town of Siena, famous for its Palio horserace, and to the north of the Maremma region, in an area which is nonetheless very attractive, scenic and extremely authentic.
Here, in Val di Merse, can be found many lovely hilltop medieval villages and unspoilt hamlets, relaxing views and delightful lanes winding through verdant countryside. The villa is the ideal spot to spend relaxing vacations in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
The area is rich in history and among its main sights and attractions are the unique, outstanding San Galgano Abbey and the Chapel of Montesiepi with its famous and authentic Sword in the Stone, which you can still admire centuries later.

Both the abbey and the chapel are also unique and remarkable wedding venues in Tuscany.
They are just 7 km from Villa Podernovo, and hence the perfect wedding venue for your unforgettable celebrations.
Admittedly there are many wedding villas and destinations in Tuscany, but only here do you have the possibility of marrying inside the abbey itself. That’s what makes staying at Villa Podernovo so very special!

We do not have a restaurant but there is a traditional Tuscan, fairly-priced one only 200 mt. from the villa and a few others in the surroundings.

Surroundings (Monticiano)

Villa Podernovo is located south of Siena, in the wonderful regional park of the Val di Merse, an area of great naturalistic interest in Tuscany, half-way between the Crete Senesi and the Maremma.

Siena is renowned throughout the world for its Palio horserace and its incredible artistic heritage. Its old town is so unique and beautiful that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The haunting Abbey of San Galgano and the legendary Sword in the Stone are located just few minutes away from the villa.
