A small paradise in the green hills of Maremma Tuscany - San Ottaviano is the ideal place to experience Tuscany. With short day trips, one can reach the beautiful beaches of Maremma Tuscany (Follonica, Baratti and San Vincenzo), take excursions to near-by medieval hill towns (Suvereto, Bolgheri, Volterra), or visit local vineyards for winetastings. There are several national parks, hotspring spas, and archeological sites nearby.

On-site our guests may go horseback riding, lounge at one of our two pools, tour our artisanal brewery, taste our beer, visit our farm animals, and enjoy a delicious meal in our KM0 restaurant. Starting from the farm, there are many kilometers of mapped and signed trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. With a long history dating back 400 years, the estate of San Ottaviano is sure to give you a taste of the Tuscan countryside.

San Ottaviano is composed 2 rooms and 24 apartments from studios for two up to large apartments sleepimng a maximum of 8 people.
In the higher part of the farm, there is the historic farm of San Ottaviano, which houses the restaurant, reception, agricultural craft brewery and some apartments.
The other apartments are found 300 meters lower in the valley in a quiet meadow next to the olive grove. All of the apartments at Podere I Massoni overlook the pool area.
Each apartment has been renovated keeping in mind the old structure and rural style.
Each unit has its own entrance and a veranda with table and chairs for eating or relaxing in the fresh open air.

Services Farm-house

Two panoramic pools, 17m x 8m each (one at San Ottaviano and one at Podere I Massoni) are equipped with lounge chairs and umbrellas and look out over the valley.
There are several barbecue grills around the agriturismo.
Receptions, meetings and weddings can be organized in our meeting room, or in the gardens.

Breakast is served every morning from 8 to 10.30 in the restaurant.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner (reservation).
We often organize special events, like homemade pizza or BBQ night.
San Ottaviano is also home to our craft brewery, Birrificio de'Neri, where we produces agricultural craft beer. Visits and beer tasting are organized for guests.

San Ottaviano’s restaurant offers its guests flavors of the estate harvested directly from its gardens, pastures, beehives, fields and olive orchards. The owners, Francesco and Hilary, invite you to feel at home in the old oil-mill-turned-restaurant or out on one of its two panoramic terraces. Their unique dishes have italo-american roots, making them unique to the area. Be assured, however, that they are made exclusively with fresh, local ingredients. Many of the recipes feature the estate’s secret ingredient: La Birra de’Neri. This craft beer is produced just a few steps from the restaurant using barley that is cultivated in the fields of the Cornia Valley below.

Breakfast

Our breakfast offers local products and homemade deserts. Our buffet features fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, ham, boiled eggs, cheese, fresh bread, toast, homemade jams, biscuits, cakes, juice, water, and coffee. Starting in 2020, breakfast will be served at your table or is available for takeout. There will be no buffet.

Surroundings (Monterotondo Marittimo)

San Ottaviano is surrounded by 400 hectares of fields and forests, a true paradise for outdoor sports lovers: the walking, riding and biking trails are almost infinite!

The closest village is Suvereto (10 km), a wonderful little medieval village with many restaurants and shops.
Massa Marittima, with its famous "old town" is about 15 km; Ferries to Elba depart from the port of Piombino, only 30 km, and the famous Bolgheri is about 40 minutes away.

Volterra, Siena, Pisa and Florence are also easily reached in about 1 - 1.5 hours.

The Mediterranean coast, with the beautiful and beautiful beaches of San Vincenzo, the gulf of Baratti and Follonica is about 30 km by car.
