I've always been a nature lover. This property was bought by my parents in 1964, when they were still engaged. With a lot of love and effort, my parents transformed a wild and uncultivated place into a cosy place, where serenity and peace reign. Over the years, family members and friends whom we have hosted, used to say that in Chiesa a Varena you could breathe peace and they would return home refreshed and happy. This gave rise to the idea of sharing this corner of paradise with other people, and so the farmhouse took shape. I designed it so that those who enter have the impression that they are entering a home and not a hotel. I want my guests to experience a moment of harmony with nature and with themselves, and to leave with new energy. I would like to be able to show the beauty of life in the country-side and the importance of preserving the environment.
Agriturismo Chiesa a Varena is an eco-friendly retreat located about 35 km from Florence, nestled in the rolling Tuscan hills. Originally a church, later converted into a barn, the structure has been transformed into a farm stay that offers an experience in harmony with nature.
The owner, Anna, has embraced permaculture practices to create a food forest, regenerating the soil and promoting local biodiversity. Guests can participate in lavender workshops and guided tours of the vegetable garden, as well as explore the nearby medieval villages and the Casentino Forests National Park.
The agriturismo is committed to the use of renewable energy and eco-friendly cleaning products, providing a sustainable and welcoming environment.
