Borgo Il Palazzo sits on a typical hillside in Tuscany, at an altitude of about 380 m, surrounded by the vines and olive groves of the estate. Although very close to the city of Arezzo (to the north east), we are surrounded by nature, but the don’t worry, the atmosphere is also rich with history! It is said that the estate dates back to the Etruscans, although its name - Il Palazzo - comes
from the conquerors of the Etruscans, the Romans.
In the late Middle Ages, the estate took on the appearance it more or less has today. There are many precious traces from that period, both in terms of architecture and “legend”. Our hamlet was in fact a “statio”, a military station along the Salt Road (also known as the Via Arminensis or Via Livia), joining Rimini to Rome.
Each of our perfectly renovated apartments with all mode conveniences, preserves the charm and ambience of the old rooms: the wine cellar, stables, granaries and large hay bas now have a new identity, transformed into super-comfortable accommodation for your stay.
Suite, three-roomed, one-bedroom or one-roomed. Our accommodation is matched with all the needs of our guests.
If I say “relaxation in Tuscany”, what do you think? A panoramic pool set in a grove of centuries-old olives, rosemary hedges and lavender, surrounded by a green lawn, and offering endless views of the vines.
But a vacation is not just relaxing, the interior trails at the Estate and the Borgo offer routes for unforgettable hiking or biking (4 mountain bikes available for free), easy and medium-easy hiking trails for trekking enthusiasts.
Borgo il Palazzo is also an ideal starting point for many local tourist attractions: Arezzo, Cortona, Siena and Florence: unforgettable art cities very close to us.
The 80-year-old history of the Palazzo has seen three generations succeed each other to devote themselves to agriculture with passion. The Banelli family purchased the entire property, including the medieval village, in the 1940s. The estate stands on a hill in the center of which stands the Agriturismo, with a splendid swimming pool overlooking Arezzo. The atmosphere you breathe recalls the modesty of the rural and rural life of the past.
