Who we are

Our Cugusi family moved from Fonni, one of the oldest towns in Barbagia, to Valledoria, a small town in Northern Sardinia, bringing with it the most ancient agro-pastoral traditions. Our parents Mario and Costanza started the "MONTE ISTULARGIU" farm in 1996, with the cultivation of the land and the breeding of sheep and pigs. From the idea of wanting to expand the company, in 2000, they decided to renovate old disused ruins, giving life to the farmhouse with accommodation. The name derives from the position "sul Monte", from the cultivation of Sardinian wheat, in Sardinian "S'istula - spiga" and from the "Largo" panorama from which the lower Coghinas valley can be admired. For our parents, in recent years the greatest satisfaction is seeing us 4 children: Pasquale, Antonella, Marco and Pierluigi, devoting ourselves to the development of a simple farm and agritourism into a real multifunctional company with the introduction of the cured meat factory and of the dairy.

The Agriturismo Monte Istulargiu boasts a strategic position, between Valledoria and Castelsardo, on a hill a few minutes from the sea, overlooking the gulf of Asinara.
In the large room overlooking the sea and under the pergola outside in close contact with the nature and the panorama that surround us, it is possible to delight yourself with our tasting menu full of typical Sardinian dishes.
Pasquale, the eldest son of the Cugusi family, prepares with care and attention from the stove the tasty traditional dishes, from the raw materials of our production and from the best local products to meet the needs of the guests who seek a healthy and genuine cuisine. Our choices change according to the season.
We have several menus available with convenient conditions for schools, or groups.
A peculiarity that we want to remind you are the magnificent sunsets over the sea, which can be admired during your experience.

	posizione molto panoramica e buona per raggiungere le spiagge della zona. molte mosche all'interno dell'appartamento appena arrivati. ottima la ristorazione (Good)

	Accueil chaleureux, personnel souriant et serviable. Restaurant avec magnifique vue. 2 soirées dans la même semaine et plats typiques différents tout aussi savoureux les uns que les autres. (Excellent)

	Le site des gîtes est facile à trouver malgré son isolement. C'est très calme et les plats servis correspondent à ce qui est décrit sur le site internet. C'est très agréable de découvrir un maximum de plats par petites portions en un seul repas. Le vin et la liqueur de myrte servis étaient excellents. On nous a commenté chaque plat.La chambre était correcte et très propre. (Sufficient)
