Agriturismo La Cantina is an agricultural estate with an adjoining agritourism business, primarily dedicated to farming. The farm spans approximately 20 hectares, where we cultivate cereals (wheat and barley), the Sardinian spiny artichoke, asparagus, and a variety of seasonal vegetables essential for the agriturismo. We also produce Vernaccia wine, red table wines (Cannonau, Syrah, and Carignano del Sulcis) from our vineyards, as well as olive oil and table olives from our olive groves.
Vernaccia is a native wine typical of the Oristano province. The name originates from the Latin word vernaculus, meaning "local" or "of the place", but when speaking of Vernaccia, one inevitably speaks of Oristano. The finest Vernaccia comes from Baratili San Pietro, a village known for producing this prestigious wine.
Over the years, Vernaccia wine saw a significant decline in economic value, leading many producers to reduce production. However, with the recent revival of traditional flavors, these grapes have regained strong commercial demand, allowing even small-scale artisanal production to regain its recognition and appreciation.
The Agriturismo features seven rooms, where guests can stay in single, double, or triple rooms. Each room is equipped with room service and air conditioning. The furnishings are simple, yet decorated with a personal touch of creativity. The structure also offers accessible facilities for guests with disabilities.
There is a small indoor dining area and a closed veranda that serves as a restaurant with a TV corner. At the entrance, a large courtyard provides a safe play area for children and a relaxing social space for adults, where they can unwind with a glass of Vernaccia or Mirto in good company.
