Piccola Raieda is a typical farmhouse of the Apennines between Tuscany and Emilia - Romagna, nestled amidst green pastures and centuries’old woods. It is situated at an altitude of 500 metres, inside the uncontaminated natural reserve of the Pliocene Spur, just 25 minutes away from Bologna and 50 minutes from Florence, exactly on Via degli Dei.
In our 10 hectares of land we rear horses and poultry and we grow herbs, vegetables and woodland berries. We also produce fantastic honey and marmalades.
We are specialised in horse riding holidays: lessons for beginners, rides, horse trekking school and riding treks along the suggestive nature trails between Emilia – Romagna and Tuscany.
Mountain-bike and trekking enthusiasts can enjoy wonderful trails inside the natural reserve of the “Contrafforte Pliocenico” (Pliocene Spur): in agritourism maps of the several trails are provided.
In the surroundings opportunity to engage in other sports activities such as: rock climbing, on the famous climbing walls of Rocca di Badolo only 2 kilometres away from the estate; golf by amagnificent golf club boasting a suggestive 18-hole course that extends over green hills and through dense thickets about 10 minutes far from the agritourism; fishing, by a lake about 2 chilometres far from us.
But Piccola Raieda also offers the finest hospitality, including two comfortable double rooms with bathroom, a spacious two-roomed- apartment and a large one-roomed flat, both with bathroom. One of the two double rooms is equipped for guests with motor difficulties.
At Piccola Raieda you will also find a restaurant with home-style cuisine, in the most rigorous Emilian tradition, served in the old stone cowshed with fireplace, now converted into a dining room for guests. During the summer it is possible to have meals outside in the garden.
