We’re approaching the traditional Venetian event of the Feast of the Redeemer, when the lagoon city lights up with fireworks. On the evening of Saturday, July 19th, the lovely setting of St. Mark’s Basin and the Giudecca Canal will host countless boats decorated for the holiday, with friends waiting for the play of light in the night.
One of the most anticipated events in town, dating back to the year 1577 when the city was liberated from a terrible plague, and the Palladian Basilica of the Redeemer was built on the Giudecca Island.
