Spotlight on Umbria, and precisely on Castiglione del Lago, in the province of Perugia. Close to the Trasimeno Lake, the countryside holiday house Villa Vitellino welcomes us. It is Mrs. Barbara, an Australian who fell in love with Italy, who guides us at the discovery of this nice facility plunged in the green.

How did your farmhouse originate?

I come from Australia, and in the 1990s I made a journey in Europe and at the end I decided to stay here in Italy. The facility that hosts the holiday house was an investment, and in 1998 we started to rent our apartments during the holidays.

What characterizes your territory?

The house is in the countryside, and every year different farming activities take place, such as the picking of sunflowers, olives, grape and the harvesting of hay in the surrounding fields: these activities are really evocative in their simplicity!

Which activities can be carried out at your farmhouse?

We put forward many different proposals: from trekking and walking to the itineraries along the Trasimeno Lake and near Cortona. In fact, also thanks to our location, here it is easy to enjoy the contact with nature. Then there are all those activities which we do not directly offer but which are linked to our land, such as the sailing school, windsurfing on the lake, and horse-riding in the green of the sweet hills that surround us.

What do you love the most in your work?

I enjoy the fact that our guests can have a good time and get to know Umbria as a charming, pleasant and wholesome place. I want them to be happy with our service, with the cleanness of our rooms and with the friendship they can find here.

What will never lack at your farmhouse?

A kind and easy-going service, but most of all a smile and tons of relax.
