Those who want to open a farmhouse in Marche must comply with the rules of the Regional Law No. 3 of April 3, 2002. According to this measure, farmhouses include any activities performed by entrepreneurs seasonally (individually or with partners) that feature reception and hospitality, all using the company’s premises, and without prejudice to the proper  agricultural activities.
Farmers can benefit from the assistance of their families, and use the term “farmhouse” (even in an altered form) only if they subscribe to the regional list. The accommodation capacity of the facility must not exceed 35 beds, 12 parking bays, and 70 seats at the restaurant. The minimum size of a single bedroom must be 7 square meters, a double bedroom 11 square meters.
Entrepreneurs who are part of the list of regional farmhouse operators must ask the Municipality where the buildings are located, with a detail of the plan, and all the documentation relating to the compliance of buildings with sanitary rules.
