Our readers, big fans of farmhouses and ecological holidays, will surely have heard of the farmhouse run by 12 former homeless people.
Our staff could not help devoting a little space to this facility located in the beautiful landscape of the hills of Pistoia, to be precise in Serravalle Pistoiese.
The building dates back to the Fifteenth century and implies a big change for the former homeless people, a project made possible by an anonymous benefactor from Milan, who offered them a contract of employment of 650 Euros per month. The building (which has nine rooms to accommodate tourists) was inaugurated on June 17, and the unknown benefactor will provide money until the total economic autonomy is reached.
A major project, which shows how Italian business is a world of great creativity, and that despite the crisis, beautiful ideas can win, and give new hope to those who, in a context of moral degradation more than anything else, are not always able to make their voices heard.
The staff of Agriturismi.it cannot but be delighted with this initiative, and we wish all the best to these budding entrepreneurs, so that they can find a way of redemption and faith in the future in their profession.
