Also this week return the appointment with the section “Interviews to the owner”.
We have interviewed Emanuela, owner of the farm house “Artemisia”, located in the heart of the Valley Scrivia, one of the uncontaminated areas of Liguria.
When did you start the activity?
We bought the farm in 2009 whereas we opened the farm house in October 2010.
Why did you decide to open a farm house?
I decided to open a farm houses for my passion for the cuisine but also for the desire to share the love for my territory.
Did you live there before?
No, before I had lived in Genoa and then we moved here because we wanted to live in the countryside.
Which typical products it is possible to taste in your farm house?
In our farm house it is possible to taste all the vegetable and fruit products, the Quarantine potatoes, berries, rose syrup, prepared according to the old traditional recipe, jams of fruit and fresh flowers, rose honey, aromatic waters, vinegars and liqueurs. In short, we transform everything that nature and the countryside offer, especially wild plants and wild fruits.
Which activities do you do?
We organize various activities such as yoga classes, those relating to the didactic farm including workshops to learn how to recognize herbs, find out how the old tools were used, take care to the animals. Next event will be the course for the practical realization of a synergic vegetable garden to learn how to grow vegetables and create a garden using the natural mechanisms of auto-fertilization. The course will be held on the 28th and 29th April.
What is the best memory related to the guests?
I have numerous good memories as often we unsaturated with them a relationship of friendship and many times in the evening I chat with them for hours.
Which is your greatest satisfaction about your activity?
Surely the greatest satisfaction is seeing the happiness of the guests, the fact that they appreciate the place where we are, and see that we are able to pass our enthusiasm to them. In fact, something that we care a lot about, is passing the love for our territory and this way of life also through environmental sustainability.
