In Albosaggia (SO), a town in Valtellina, on the northern slope of Orobie Alps, is set a very interesting farm: Terra del Sole (Land of the Sun). It is special both for its fruit trees, especially Kiwis, and for the green building methods used in the construction of the house.
Regarding the fruit trees, the farm house doesn’t use any chemical, not in the production of Kiwis, nor in the one of blueberries, fruit trees and olive groves.
For what concerns the house, it has been built in a sustainable way, with the aim of being as much nature friendly as possible in the use of materials and of heating and water supply systems.
The house is divided into two parts; the first one hosts the owner’s apartment, a warehouse and the refrigerators for the preservation of the products; the second one hosts the apartments for the tourists and a big multipurpose room.
“Products from the sun and preserved with the sun” is the slogan for the natural products which, once gathered, are preserved in refrigerators powered by the energy of the sun.
