1) Città di Castello
A village whose unmistakable outline is marked by several bell towers that bear witness to the conflict between religious and civic power, Città di Castello still preserves some stretches of the town walls intact Piazza Matteotti is the real heart of the village, bordered by beautiful buildings, including the famous Palazzo del Podestà. Also visit the 13th-centuryTower of the Bishop, and take a a walk to enjoy the view that opens over the High Tiber Valley and the Montesca hill.

2) Torgiano
Known for the excellent wine that is produced there, the village of Torgiano, of Roman origins, owes its name to the ancient tower known literally as the “Tower of Janus”. Do not miss a visit to one of the most important winemaking museums in Italy, in addition to historic monuments like the Church of Madonna dell’Ulivello, and the Oratorio della Misericordia.
Recommended: Farmhouse La Collina dei Ciliegi, located in a 18th-century carefully restored farm that has preserved to original furnishings. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and cherry trees, the farmhouse is surrounded by a park of 50 thousand square meters.
3) Vallo di Nera
Located in the beautiful setting of the Nera Valley, this village is interesting for its medieval buildings and its shape, that stands out as a fortress among the woods. Visit the church of Santissima Annunziata dell’Eremita with ancient votive frescoes. The narrow alleys, the slots, the stone houses, make a walk in the town center a real adventure.
