What are the most spectacular destinations for a romantic getaway? Italy is full of beautiful places from north to south that are perfect for touring in good company! Let’s discover some, with a relaxing break at our farmhouses!
1) Capri
Do not miss a boat tour in the stunning “Grotta Azzurra”, followed by a typical trip in the funicular to reach the town center, and admire from there the seascape with its beautiful rocks.
2) Venice
The view of St. Mark’s Square and the old buildings that are reflected on the calm waters of the lagoon at sunset are certainly one of the most romantic sceneries in the world, and not only in a gondola!
Recommended: Farmhouse Praetto, in the Venetian countryside, offers some boat tours in the Venetian lagoon, to explore its most secret corners.
3) Taormina
Also known as the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, it is a fascinating location full of attractions, such as the Greek Theatre dating back to the II century and the view that you can enjoy from Piazza IX Aprile, which ranges from Etna to the Bay of Naxos.
4) Orvieto
In the rolling hills of Umbria, this resort is known for its beautiful Cathedral, and for the ancient underground city which includes the famous St. Patrick’s well, surrounded by spiral staircases.

5) Merano
This lovely South Tyrolean town is perfect for those who love the cozy atmosphere of the mountain. Do not miss a visit to the Castle Trauttmansdorff, where the Empress Sissi used to stay, then go hiking on the trails of Val Senales, and finally take a break at the beautiful thermal spa.
6) Rome
You cannot miss the Italian capital, with the views of Piazza Navona, the magnificent Colosseum, and the amazing St. Peter’s Square, as well as the many clubs which liven up the Roman nights

7) Matera

8) Cinque Terre
A romantic destination par excellence, this area of Liguria includes the villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso, clinging on cliffs overlooking the sea, rich in natural beauty and scenic trails.

9) Lake Como
Do not miss a tour on the funicular leading from the city of Como to the panoramic watchpoint of Brunate, known as the Balcony of the Alps. In addition to a boat trip, explore the villages of the lakeside such as Cernobbio and its villas, and Bellagio, called the Pearl of the Lake.
10) Pienza
This Renaissance town, originated as the “ideal city”, dominates Val d’Orcia from the hill on which it is perched. Visit the charming old town with Palazzo Piccolomini and the Cathedral of the Assumption.
