Summer is one of the best times to savor the peacefullness of the mountain, with its slow rhythms, the natural cuisine and an authentic encounter with nature. We have selected three farmhouses that are perfect for spending a few days of relaxation at high altitudes in our beautiful mountains!
1) Discovering Valtellina
In the green setting of the Valtellina, our destination is the Farmhouse Cà Dla Pia in Cosio Valtellino, originating from the renovation of a typical stone house. Honey, jams, essential oils and teas
are just some of the natural products to savor at the farm. Here you will also find a veritable educational farm that includes exotic animals, and often falconers carry out beautiful demonstrations during the holidays.
Don’t miss: the historic center of Morbegno and a trip to Lake Como and Lake St. Moritz, the spas of Bormio, Livigno, a ride on the Bernina red train, trekking in Valgerola.
2) Relax in Val d’Aosta
Horseback riding, trekking on the trails and mountain biking are just some of the activities for a holiday at the Farmhouse Plan d’Avie, in Arpuilles Avie,
not far from Aosta. Here you can relax in the large green area facing south, admiring the view that opens towards Aosta and over the majestic mountains. Guests also have access to a barbecue and a wood stove to better enjoy the tasty local products.
Don’t miss: the historic center of Aosta, a trip to the Gran Paradiso National Park, an excursion to the glacier Rutor.
3) In Trentino among the Dolomites
It is a short drive from Trento that we find the Farmhouse Agritur Dalaip dei Pape, in Tonadico
at 1,200 meters above sea level, among the meadows on the edge of the Nature Park Paneveggio Pale di San Martino. The facility is an old farm set in a panoramic position over the valley of Primiero, among the forests and the Dolomites Pale di San Martino. Here you can relax in the shade of old cherry trees, and participate in guided tours and tasting of small fruits.
Don’t miss: the historic center of Trento, a trip to Lake Tovel and Lake Molveno, the Sanctuary of San Romedio, Castel Thun.
