Details:
We’re approaching the traditional Venetian event of the Feast of the Redeemer, when the lagoon city lights up with fireworks. On the evening of Saturday, July 19th, the lovely setting of St. Mark’s Basin and the Giudecca Canal will host countless boats decorated for the holiday, with friends waiting for the play of light in the night.
One of the most anticipated events in town, dating back to the year 1577 when the city was liberated from a terrible plague, and the Palladian Basilica of the Redeemer was built on the Giudecca Island. A chance to rediscover the Serenissima in a unique atmosphere, so we have selected a few farmhouses nearby for an unforgettable stay.
1) Farmhouse Praetto
Easily accessible from Marco Polo airport in Venice and located in the countryside, Farmhouse Praetto offers its guests an oasis of tranquility, with typical Venetian cuisine and farm products
(sausages, salami, vegetables, homemade pasta, wine and meat from the farm). The rooms are decorated in the typical local style, with air conditioning, while the apartments are equipped with kitchenettes. Among the activities, we find relaxing boat trips to the Venetian lagoon, in order to explore the most
secret corners of Venice and the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Among the restaurant’s specialties: risotto with nettles, lasagna with duck sauce and other delicious home-made dishes.
2) Farmhouse Althe’a
Farmhouse Althe’a is an ancient refurbished farmhouse, located in the hills of Vittorio Veneto, surrounded by hills and vineyards where the Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene wine originates. The farm produces its own grapes in the estate Ru de Confin, and offers its guests the opportunity to taste and purchase the wines of the farm.
The restaurant is decorated with simplicity and offers the typical dishes of the traditional cuisine, such as ricotta gnocchi, ravioli and risotto, as well as grilled meat. The dishes make use of local products: asparagus, pumpkin, radicchio and mushrooms. The summer terrace has an amazing view over the vineyards and surrounding hills and along the paths that surround the structure you can go hiking and mountain biking, and make pleasant boat trips on the lakes of Revine and Santa Croce.
3) Farmhouse Valle Del Mincio
Housed in a charming local building, just behind the medieval village of Borghetto Valeggio, Farmhouse Valle del Mincio overlooks a hillside
in a landscape made of little waterfalls, amazing sunsets, light and color. This resort surrounded by greenery, is located in the heart of one of the most picturesque corners of the province of Verona and Lake Garda, with the opportunity to relax in the beautiful outdoor pool.
