Gorgonzola cheese is one of the most popular of our country, and there are really many events dedicated to this specialty. The tradition traces its origins in Lombardy, but throughout we can find festivals dedicated to this cheese. Today we begin by mentioning one that takes place in Piedmont: we are talking about the “Feast of Gorgonzola” of Granozzo (a fine village in the province of Novara, which is home to just over 1000 inhabitants) which takes place on September 1st.

For those who want to come into direct contact with history, we cannot forget the “National Feast of Gorgonzola”, which takes place on September 14 and 15 in Gorgonzola, in the province of Milan. It is a real feast which pays homage to the famous cheese in different ways, from workshops to tasting stalls.

We must wait for the beginning of 2014, when in January there will be the “Feast of flavours and gorgonzola” in the center of Varese.

Do you love the magic of this DOP cheese? Do you want to taste it in places that have seen its birth? Why not taking advantage of a stay at a farmhouse?
