Opening a farmhouse can be a very useful action for society as well. In certain contexts it is in fact a fundamental solution to avoid that rural areas be abandoned.

In this regard, in Sicily a call, open until May 27th 2013, provides a maximum of 200,000 Euros in order to redevelop existing farmhouses, but also to open new ones.

This is an opportunity of great importance for a land where farming represents a value that goes far beyond the economic side, and which focuses on the enhancement of an area of absolute fascination for its landscape and culture.
