Pietro Bembo, a humanist and man of the church of great fame, had been one of the key figures of the Renaissance: his contribution to our language is one of the most important, and the city of Padua celebrates the era of this great man with the exhibition Pietro Bembo and the invention of the Renaissance, which is a major event in the calendar of the first months of next year.
The works on display, part of Venetian Cardinal’s collection, are some of the masterpieces by artists such as Raphael, Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini and Titian, figures that have radically changed the history of the Renaissance, marking deeply the structure of our culture, and changing for good the way of thinking about creativity and the relationship between politics and art. The exhibition will take place at Palazzo del Monte, and is sponsored by Cassa di Risparmio of Padua and Rovigo.
This event is the perfect opportunity to see in the same place paintings of great fame, and to visit the other masterpieces of the city, such as Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel.
