Date: October  14, 2012 – October 21, 2012

Location: Vivo d’Orcia (SI)

Region: Tuscany

The autumn festivals are a great opportunity to come into contact with the flavors of rural tradition. Each region is full of events, and  today we announce the  Festival of Mushroom and Chestnut, which will take place October 14 to 21 at Vivo d’Orcia, in the beautiful setting of the valley, one of the most fascinating areas of Tuscany.
This festival is a true celebration of the fruits of the area in which it takes place: the village of Vivo D’Orcia is in fact surrounded by many chestnut trees, especially in the area closest to Monte Amiata. During the event you can taste some typical dishes of autumn, such as polenta with porcini mushrooms, and enjoy the architectural beauty of the medieval town, once home to a community of monks from Camaldoli.

Tuscany is a land of history and culinary traditions, which are offered in all their strength precisely during times like this, where you can get in touch with the most genuine part of the cultural heritage of this beautiful region.
