Details:
Today it is Mrs. Olimpia, owner of the farmhouse Antica Cassia, in Bolsena, who tells us the special features o a facility who for four years has allowed visitors to enjoy a wonderful natural land, rich in traditions and history, enclosed between the lake and the countryside, in an atmosphere of calm and simplicity.
The farmhouse rises in an ancient farm: what characterizes the facility?
The farm has been recently restored and subdivided into five apartments, each endowed with an independent entrance. The furniture is new and in “poor art” style, and preserve the original rural features: kitchens and bedrooms feature simple materials, like wood and wrought iron.
The farmhouse location is special: right by the Bolsena lake.
The estate is next to the beach of Bolsena, far from the traffic but at the same time it can be easily reached from the village. Guests have the chance to spend days by the lake, organize barbecues and picnics on the beach by using our facilities in the cool shade of the trees, without the environmental impact of traditional beaches. The farmhouse moreover is surrounded by wide green areas and gardens, with gazebos.
Not only natural beauties: your territory is rich in history.
The farmhouse rises by the ancient Via Francigena, the historic road of the pilgrims. But there are many events that allow to plunge into the traditions of the territory, such as the Feast of Saint Cristina, the patron of Bolsena, on July 23rd and 24th, and the so-called “Misteri”, commemorating the tortures the Saint underwent after her father found out her Christian faith. The Feast of Corpus Domini is also noteworthy, on June 17th, commemorating the miracle that took place in Bolsena in 1263, through the typical “infiorate”.
What would you suggest to the guest who would like to stay at your farmhouse?
The farmhouse is in an ideal position to visit some art towns: the nice town of Viterbo is just about 30 km from here, while Orvieto is 25. Siena and Rome can also be easily reached. A great number of guests have really enjoyed staying at our farmhouse and have come back, especially from Germany.
